Amenbo 24.2.0 — write under a pane, then send it
There is now a box under a pane to write in, so a long errand is composed before the AI sees a single keystroke. The changes from 24.1.0 also landed by this version.

A box under a pane holds what you write until you send it
Typing straight into the terminal hands every keystroke to the AI as it is typed. That is in the way for a long errand, or for something pasted that wants tidying first. The box holds it until you send it.
- It grows with what is written, and pushes the terminal up by that much.
- Sending empties it.
- A file or a picture pasted into the box goes with what is sent.
- Split the pane out into its own window and what is written under it goes with it.
- Pressing the up arrow on the first line opens the box, so writing can start there even when it is closed.
Pick what a pane opens with, and which model it opens on
Before the pane opens, there are two rows of choices: the command to open with, and the model to start on. The CLI’s own default leaves it as it was — that command’s own default model. Commands this machine has not got are kept on the row, folded away.
A running pane can be moved to another model
Once a pane is open, you can move it to a different model without opening a new one. The names are shown in the provider’s own words. The name you gave the pane is carried into the provider running in it.
Unwritten edits, and files that moved underneath
Editing an open file marks the tab, and the file with it, as not yet saved.

A reader can also write their own text over a file that moved under them.

- Pressing an
httpaddress drawn in a pane opens it in the default browser. - Copying out of a pane carries the plain text, not the way it was drawn on screen.
Getting it
Open the installer for your OS from the latest release. No admin rights are needed.

.pkg, one for Apple silicon and one for Intel (GUI and CLI come together) - Windows — setup
.exe(GUI and CLI come together) - Linux — the GUI is an AppImage; the
amenbocommand comes from the CLI installer
To update: on the GUI, the “a newer version is available” banner applies it in place. If you installed only the CLI, amenbo update --apply swaps it.
The stored data format is unchanged, so data from an earlier version opens as it is.
